    For Life

    Some of the most meaningful work I do happens outside my salon. As Education For Life Ambassador at Christel House in Ottery, Western Cape, I have the privilege of teaching hairdressing to Grade 9 to 11 students who come from vulnerable communities.

    These young people walk into the classroom not always knowing what they are capable of. Watching them pick up a comb for the first time, create their first updo, and stand proudly behind a chair, that is where real transformation happens.

    All equipment and products are provided by generous donors. Their support makes this project sustainable, and every contribution helps a young person discover a skill, build confidence, and find a path forward.

    Hairdressing is more than a trade. It is a way to earn a living with dignity, to build relationships that matter, and to bring beauty into other people's lives while building one's own future.

    Every student who graduates from this programme walks away with more than technical skills. They walk away knowing they are capable of creating something beautiful, and that knowledge changes how they see themselves.
